7 Months old

Sadie Eloise Elwart

I cannot believe it has been 7 months since the day you were born!
How quickly time flies!
Let's see what you have been up too:

You have been crawling
And the other day, I found you sitting up in your pack-n-play!!

You make the FUNNIEST faces.  I call this one your Popeye:

You love tags.  Wherever you are, you can find one!  In your pack-n-play, the girls' couch, clothes..anywhere!

You have 2 bottom teeth and getting a third!  Because of that, you like to suck and chew on EVERYTHING.  Yesterday, Audrey gave you one of her kitchen food pieces and you loved it so much!  If it had been a real slice of cherry pie...you would have inhaled it!

 Speaking of food: you love to grab at our utensils and our plates.  You just want to eat!
You had your first taste of meat last week!  Turkey! YUM!
And, a friend snuck you a hush puppy at dinner one night!!  You couldn't get enough of it! Everything was going fine until you got to the very end and got a piece off that was too big.  I took the hush puppy from you and you started squealing!  Sadie girl, you are just like your momma!  Don't mess with our food!!

Sadie, you are such a doll baby!  Generally you are a very easy going baby.  And flash a smile at anyone who talks to you! I cannot get enough of your sweet baby smell, laugh and smile!

You love attention from your big sisters.  They ADORE you, as well!  {who could blame them, eh!?}

I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always.
As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be!

happy 7 months birthday to sadie!

2 years old!

I am sooo behind.

Tuesday was my little girl's 2nd BIRTHDAY!!

Where in the world did that come from?

She is 2!!!  WOW!

Audrey,

My sweet middle child.
There is so much I could say about you.
You are a curious little monkey {just like your favorite cartoon : curious george}

You LOVE music and dancing around the kitchen with your sisters and mommy.
Audrey, you adore cooking.
Pouring the water in the bowl or stirring is your favorite {and pretty much all you can do right now anyways, so it works out}

Your big sister is golden in your eyes.
You do everything she does.

I love listening to y'all play together.

                                                             Sadie, the newest member of our little family, is the apple of your eye.
                                                          The morning is not complete without a "Hey Sadie" and a good morning kiss from you.

You are a doting big sister, too.  When Sadie starts to cry, you make sure I am doing my job and call my attention to her : " UH-OH Mommy!  Sadie "TRYING" ."  And I could pretty much eat you up with a big ole spoon!!

At 2 you already love to sing and have some favorite songs.  Like, Come as a Child, from the kids Christmas program this past year.  Everytime we get in the van you beg to listen to it.

Some of your favorite things:

Books! You LOVE to read.
Eating; you can put a dent in any dish!
giggling.
getting on "daddy's couch" and waiting for him to come TICKLE YOU!
Bananas
Milk
Playing Doctor
Coloring

You are also ever so polite.
You are my Miss Manners.
Whenever someone sneezes or coughs, you ALWAYS say "Bless You!"

Most of the time I don't have to prompt you to say Thank you.
You say you're welcome.
You also are the first {before Charlotte anyway} to offer up an "I'm Sorry".
You love to talk on the phone.  Anytime I am on it, you HAVE to talk.
You also love to say : "I WUB YOU."

Audrey, your family WUBS you, too!

I will try and keep you guys updated!! Lisa wants me in there, so pray for me! I know I have been through it twice, but I have never seen it. Ha ha ha.

What a Day!!

This Saturday was busy with the scheduled plans...{note: not ALL in chronological order}

1. Best friend's daughter's 2nd birthday party @ 3-5
2. Best Sister's birthday party @ 5
3. Getting stranded at Payless.

If you were figuring the 3rd "TO DO" on my list wasn't a "scheduled" event on the list, then you would figure correctly.
My story begins when I left the house a little before 2. It is a little reminiscent of Jenna's Story here.
I wanted to leave the house a little early because I was given the green light from my husband to buy the shoes I spoke about here!! Can I get an Woo-Hoo!?!? And, I was wearing my newer dress, remember this one? Those 2 would have looked spectacular together, no?
We had to drive to G-ville which is about 30 minutes away. I was trying to give myself PLENTY of time.
When I got to the stoplight AT Payless, the truck started making a weird noise.
I prayed that it wouldn't cut off on me.
I called my husband and told him what was going on.
Moments before he had called me to tell me he was on the way to a shop to get HIS truck fixed!! {when it rains, it pours, right!?}
Anywho. Thankfully it didn't conk out on me.
I parked it at Payless.
I told him that it was okay. I was going to run into Payless and then head over to Toni's house for the 1st birthday party of the afternoon.
FASHION FIRST!!!
I unloaded the girls, went inside and got my shoes!
Cute little Charlotte tried to pay the lady with our library card!
It was too adorable. I wish I could have snapped a picture of that!
I was in a much better mood now that I had the shoes in my hands.
I loaded the girls BACK in the truck {we were only in Payless for under 5 minutes, A RECORD for me.}
Got in, put the key in the ignition. And turned it.
everything BUT the engine started up.
OH NO. NO ...NO....NO!!
I tried again.
I prayed.
I tried again.
I prayed again.
It was started to get hot in the truck.
Called my husband.
No answer.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?"
Called my Assistant Pastor {that's who Jackie was with.}
No answer.
"REALLY!? Come on!!!"
Called the Pastor's wife.
No answer.
"Okay...it's going to be okay."
I tried Jackie's cell again, and as it was ringing, he was beeping in.
"ABOUT TIME!"
I told him what happened and he said it was the starter more than likely.
And asked me what I was going to do.
HA! Yeah, like I knew.
I said I would call Toni and see what she says, maybe someone could come beat on the starter for me while I cranked it up.
She said her husband Ed, was out getting a new propane tank for the grill and that he would come and get us.
YAY for errands!
The time was almost exactly 3:00 pm by now.
Ed got there about 20 minutes later.
We had stepped inside Payless to keep cool and wait because it was about 75 degrees outside and about 80 inside the truck. Not really comfy for 2 babies and a mommy.
The ladies in Payless were super nice and let us occupy a bench.
They did ask if I needed a jump, but I told them that it was the starter, so jumping the battery wouldn't do me any good. But, thank you so much for offering!
When Ed pulled up, I lugged the girls back out and Ed was pulling out the jumper cables {evidently I forgot to mention the starter thing to Toni..} So, I repeated what I told the ladies inside.
I asked if he minded beating the snot out of the starter for me while I tried cranking it {can you tell I have been through a similar sitch before!?}
I got a bar out of the jack-thingy {yes that is MY technical term for the post....there will NOT be a quiz later, though.}
He tried his best. But the starter was give out.
A no-go if you will. {get it?...Payless..BOGO....NO-GO. okay, sorry. I'll stop!}
I loaded the girls in his car and thought about getting the new shoes out of the box..but said no, too much work right now.
It was almost 4 by the time we got to the birthday party!
The tentative plan was that I was going to go to the party, after Jackie got his truck fixed, he was going to drive our Pastor's car out to pick me up, then we were going to go to my sister's party, then back to the truck at Payless.
But, it was after 6 before he got his truck fixed and was on his way to G-ville.
I called my sister to tell her that we would be SUPER late to her party and hung out with Toni and everyone until Jackie called to let me know he was close.
I didn't get the chance to take a WHOLE bunch of pics like I wanted to, but,
here are a few pictures from the party:
The Birthday Girl, Brea! {pronounced Bray-uh, not Bree.}{sorry Toni, it's the only way I could think to sound it out...ha ha}
Happy 2nd cutie!!!!
Look at those curls!! I love it!
First shot, Charlotte isn't facing me!!
But, look at the grin on Brea!!
2nd shot and Brea isn't facing me.
Oh well, I gave up after about 4 times....I didn't get ONE shot of them BOTH looking at me.
But, these are cute anways, huh!?
I had a lot of fun! Catching up with some old friends and people I hadn't seen in years.
Charlotte had a lot of fun, too. Playing with Brea and the other kids at the party. She was also having fun bossing all of them around, too. I have NO idea where she got THAT from!
After the party, Toni was SWEET enough to drive us back to the truck to meet Jackie!
She even went into Payless and bought her sweet little Brea some new shoes!
{ I think she drove us just for the shoes! HA HA!}
Just kidding. She loves us, and we love her!
Jackie said that it was the starter and for it to get working again...wait. Rephrase that. It WASN'T going to work again, EVER. He needed to take that one out and go buy a new one.
YIPPEeeee!?
That meant we were going to totally miss my sister's birthday party. bummer.
I left her a message. Her husband Emerson called Jackie back and he explained all that was happening.
They said they would come and meet us, since they had to drive right past there to get home anyway.
Wonderful. I love them.
Jackie went off to get the new starter and the girls and I stayed behind with the truck.
When my sister and family got there, we {Lisa, me, Hailey, Hunter {Lisa's stepchildren} Charlotte and Audrey}
went to Toys-R-US and Babies-R-US which was right behind Payless.
The time was 8:45.
Emerson stayed behind with the truck to wait for Jackie.
By the time we got back, Jackie had gotten back with a new starter.
Emerson and Jackie were both under the truck trying to put the new one in.
Here is Charlotte eating her french fries waiting for the truck to magically come back to life:
After they got it cranked, I realized I didn't take any pictures of the event..so I rushed around getting a couple:

Emerson asked me what I was doing taking pictures of this,
and Jackie chimed in.."It's for her blog."
And, I proudly said, "YUP!"

A 2 year old

Yesterday was my first born's birthday!

2 years old!
WOW! I cannot believe it.
It is amazing how quickly time flies!

She has been talking about her birthday the whole weekend!
"Charlotte's Birthday!! Be 2!!!"

Charlotte had a pretty easy going day yesterday.
She woke up in the morning and came into our room to cuddle and fall back asleep
as is the usual for every morning.
But as she came into the room, Jackie and I told her HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
She was so excited!
She crawled into bed with us and Audrey, and we talked about what was going to happen throughout the day.

My mom was going to come over for a bit.
Then, at 7 pm we were having my dad, Granma, Papa and Aunt Lori over for cake.
Sunday night, I told our Pastor and his family that they should stop by if they liked.
So......we hung out in the morning.
She opened the present from us.

Then, momma came over and she opened her present.
She stayed a little while, then left.
Charlotte ate her lunch and took a nap with her "new RELLA pillow and blanket!" from MiMi.

Jewel came over for a while, watched me bake a cake,
and clean up a bit.....{she was on baby-duty!! ha-ha}

Jackie came home from Wal-Mart,
Our Pastor and his family came over.
Poor Audrey was having a day, though.
She wanted to be fed just about every hour!!!
So, I was in and out of the nursery or our bedroom so I could feed her.

At 7 my family arrived!!
We ate our dinner
Charlotte opened her presents
Blew out her candle {off the cake that I baked...YUM!}
{but, Jackie put the icing on}
So, Charlotte had her cake and ate it too!

What more can you ask for on your birthday!?

It was a very good day.
Yesterday I wanted to post a sweet little letter to my little girl.
But this weekend was crazy...and so was yesterday....
I will write something this week.
I think I may just keep it private anyway.

I will say this, though.
She is an awesome little girl.
We have our fights...{sometimes more than one a day...ha ha}
But, that is because she is a lot like me, so we tend to butt heads.
Really, though. She is a sweet baby. {I mean toddler....awww...my baby isn't a baby..}
She is intelligent. Not just smart, but really intelligent.
I hope I can get that video of her up here soon, of her being UBER-intelligent!!!
She knows the letters of the alphabet, knows the sounds they make..and can count to eleven.
{we are working on getting to 20!!!}
She has a very large vocabulary.
She loves her daddy!!

She gives the BEST bear hugs...
and the most awesome nose kisses!
She loves to tickle and be tickled.
She loves her little sister.
LOVES to hug her and kiss her.
She asks "what's wrong Audrey?" everytime she cries!! It is incredibly sweet!!
Everytime she eats something she thinks is good..she says.."MMM Delicious!!"
She loves the Disney Princesses and came name them all...by like 18 months.
Charlotte loves to read....
She loves going to the library.
She loves storytime at the library.
LOVES to do the Hokey Pokey!
She knows her right from her left.
She gets excited when daddy comes home.
When she hears an airplane or helicopter {as she calls it} fly over our house,
she says...AirPANE...HEAR It!? heckacockter? Hear it!?
Loves to "rock a minute" before her nap.
And, LOVES to SING!!!
During choir practice at church, she likes to sit in the choir loft with us and holds music and sings along with us.
My little girl is growing up.
It is a sad, but wonderful thing.
I love my first born.
For who she is and for who she will become
{whatever the Lord has in store for her, will be an awesome thing to witness.}

I am very proud to be a mother, but I am even more proud to be the mother to her.
