Misc. Monday

Oh! Has it been forever since my last Misc. Monday.

{for some reason the link isn't working on my page...so here : We are going old school.....}

Check out lowercase letters

1.
 I fell asleep on the couch last night...and slept HARD!  I did't wake up until sunrise and actually felt like I had slept! {which is a big change from waking up exhausted..}

2.
I have started doing more crafty things around the house..LOVE it!
I covered my wipes case for the diaper bag  {first time EVER doing it..}

I also made artwork for the girl's playroom/my craft/sewing room.
Mod podge and tissue paper? Who'da thunk!?
{I would tell you what blog I saw this on, but I can't remember! }

And, here are 2 of the newest pillowcase dresses I have made.
A sweet lady down the street is having a little girl and she asked me to make these!
I just ADORE the damask and green.  I WILL be making one for Sadie!

3.
My husband brought me 2 dozen flowers!
He came home from work and had 2 bouquets in his hands.
Am I blessed or what!?

4.
Last week was Family Fellowship week at our church.
Our Pastor is a Board Member of World Wide New Testament Baptist Missions.
And they have a "family reunion" of sorts every summer with all the missionary families that are on deputation, furlow, or just plain ole nearby!
It was such a blessing to be a part of it, again!
2 years ago, when Jackie was the church intern, we were invited to go along with our Pastors and their families to FFW, it was a blessing then to be in attendance and to hear all the wonderful preaching of God's Word!
This year, I was heading up the nursery.  The blessing was in being able to serve God by serving the missionary kids this year! Our mornings started at 7:30 at church for breakfast with all the board members and missionaries! Then, I was in the nursery until 12:30 when we had lunch with everyone before the afternoon break!  {during that time everyone else was in the auditorium listening and enjoying good preachin'!}
Dinner was at 5:30 back at church.  So the girls and I went home after lunch and took naps and got up and headed back to church. We had choir practice at 6:30 every night and then evening services at 7:00.  I don't think the clock read anything but 10:00 pm when I got home!
Everyone at our church that served, really came together everyday..Monday-Thursday and were so sweet, willing to help.  Willing to be servants.  What a great church! And, more importantly, what a great God!  It was such a blessing meeting missionaries I hadn't met before and getting to see and talk with missionaries that I have become "old" friends!   I cannot wait until the next one!

5.
Since last week was so busy, today will be revolved around catching up.
laundry.
vacuumming.
dusting.
bathroom cleaning.
kitchen cleaning.
girls' room cleaning.

Did I mention I will be cleaning!?

6.

I have a new hair -do!  LOVE it!
I am not sure if I posted pictures of the last time I got a new hair do...so here...I will catch everyone up! haha

This was my first time EVER having bangs.  It was such a drastic cut!  A blunt bob with bangs!
Crazy!
I loved it.

But, I LLOOOVE my new hair do so much more!
I still have bangs { didn't realize I would like having them so much}
I want to grow my hair back out, but while it is short, I wanted it to have a style...before, when it was growing out, it was all one length and it just didn't look right.

Anyway, I LOVE it!  Thanks, Adrian!
I think I may have found my new stylist!

Oh.  I love Misc. Mondays.

Show Us Where You Live: Living Room

I could say I just missed last Friday's chance to post about my kitchen,

but I purposefully did NOT post about my kitchen. It is a disaster!

But maybe next week I will throw in a couple shots of the progress I made today! HA!

Anywho....today was for Living Rooms.
Mine is still a work in progress....but I am loving the way it is going!!!
Our house is an OLLLLD house. I mean old like in Abe Lincoln old. {excuse me, I mean, OLDE}
Small. But very charming.
We did a LOT of work to it before we moved in.
Did I mention we rent!?
All the work we did was compensated by our land-lord.
We moved in the first week in August 2008 and we JUST paid our first month's rent 2 days ago.
Sweet, right!?

I love these built in shelves!
And, the mantle...I would say fireplace...but it is not much of a place for fires..if you get my meaning. The corner table has some of Charlotte's toys under it. It is the perfect out of the way spot!

I didn't get a better shot of this couch. Which is a shame...because I LOVE it!
My husband..Coupon extraordiarre, bought it at a yard sale for 100 bucks. BRAND NEW!
Anywho...it matches our scheme perfectly!
This view is looking from the Hall entryway looking to the mudroom/playroom/side door.
And, obviously..that is Charlotte and HER MESS...that wasn't there SECONDS before I started taking pictures. {I made sure of that...ha ha}

Looking at this picture, I am not liking the curtains closed all the way like that.
Usually there is a little space between them, where you can see the white between the windows.
Those curtains were purchased at Lowe's by my husband on what else, but SALE.
He picked them out himself! And, I thought he did a pretty dag on good job.
The pillows are the same fabric. That's because a lady at Church made them out of the left over curtain fabric..after she made me a roman shade that hangs on our door...{picture below!!}
Wasn't that just so sweet of her!?

The view from my front windows.
I guess I could have turned on my overhead light so you could see better...
Oh well...there is another one like this..so just prepare yourselves now.

This is our entertainment center {duh, right!?} I left the TV on so you couldn't see the fingerprints. {HAHA...so much for not bringing attention to them...}

I want to get some beige baskets on the bottom shelves beside the TV to put Charlotte's coloring books and misc. toys. We used to have red ones ..when my colors were red and zebra print. This is the view from the "fireplace".

That is also a peek into my kitchen...to the left of the TV. And, Miss Audrey makes an appearance as well!! And the Easy Bake Oven on the right...ha ha...Still need to get a light bulb for that...HA! I am SUCH A SLACKER!

Better picture of Audrey screaming her head off. And, my front door. I had forgotten to put the roman shade up....

So here.

I don't think I am looking forward to next Friday. I don't think I could clean another room right now.
